BCS Bank is one of the largest Russian investment companies. In 2019 the bank decided to create the “Department” team to develop new services for retail banking.

Our task

To develop a modern, intuitive, and easy-to-use daily banking application that would help the customers manage their personal finances more effectively.

History

Problem

The ability to show transaction history 
is an integral part of every banking application. The customers are also able to search 
and flexibly filter their transaction data.

Solution

Splitting the screen into two makes it easier for the customer to digest the information. The total expenditure is shown at the top. The more detailed, day-to-day breakdown 
is visible below.

Problem

Every day, customers realise new needs that are not always directly related to financial instruments — they seek help managing their routines.

Solution

We added a new section called «My Wallet», where the customers can store and access their statements, loyalty cards, and other documents — an essential feature of a lifestyle app.

Support chat

Problem

People often wish they had someone readily available and competent to answer their banking or app-related questions.

Solution

We tossed out all the unnecessary elements and designed a minimalistic-looking chat that takes after the messengers’ designs.

Other means of contact are also available in case of chat function failure.

Results

Over the last year, we have done a lot of work 
on the app’s functionality, the results of which 
you could see in this case study. The newly developed design system allowed us to quickly scale up the system components for development and saved a lot of time.

Awards

All this work helped the application rise from the 39th 
to the 4th place, making it into the top-10 on the Markswebb’s Internet Banking Rank 2019 list.
